Faith: A Childlike Trust in Yehovah

By admin

Faith is the foundation of our relationship with Yehovah. It is through faith that we connect with Him, abide in His promises, and navigate the complexities of life with trust and hope. In 1 Corinthians 13:11-13, the Apostle Paul provides profound insights into the nature of faith, encouraging us to mature in our spiritual journey while maintaining a childlike trust in Yehovah.

Scriptural Perspective
1 Corinthians 13:11-13
“When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now, we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.”

Practical Application

  1. Embrace Childlike Trust
Growing in faith involves maintaining a childlike trust in Yehovah. Children trust without hesitation and believe wholeheartedly. In the same way, we are called to trust Yehovah completely, relying on His wisdom and guidance.

Example from Yeshua’s Life: In Matthew 18:2-4, Yeshua calls a child to Him and says, “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”

  1. Mature in Understanding
Faith grows through a deepening understanding of Yehovah’s word and His nature. As we mature in our faith, we move beyond superficial beliefs and develop a profound comprehension of divine truths.

Example from Yeshua’s Life: In Luke 24:32, after Yeshua’s resurrection, the disciples on the road to Emmaus reflect on how their hearts burned within them as Yeshua opened the Scriptures to them: “They asked each other, ‘Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?’”

  1. Live by Faith, Hope, and Love
Paul emphasizes that faith, hope, and love are essential virtues, with love being the greatest. Living by faith means allowing these virtues to guide our actions and interactions with others.

Example from Yeshua’s Life: Yeshua’s life epitomized faith, hope, and love. His trust in the Father, His hope in the redemption plan, and His sacrificial love are the essence of our faith journey. (John 13:34-35) “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Faith is a journey of growth and maturity, anchored in a deep, childlike trust in Yehovah. As we embrace this trust, mature in our understanding, and live out our faith with hope and love, we experience a transformative relationship with our Heavenly Father. Let us strive to grow in faith, holding on to the assurance that we will one day see Him face to face and fully understand His eternal love and purpose for us.

May our faith in Yehovah continue to grow, reflecting His love and grace in all that we do.
